About the role
An international oil company operating in Basra is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to run the network infrastructure at its headquarters and field sites, keeping connectivity and security up to company standards.
Duties and responsibilities
- Design, operate and maintain LAN/WAN and wireless networks at headquarters and field sites.
- Manage firewalls, VPNs and access policies.
- Monitor network performance and resolve incidents within agreed service levels.
- Document the infrastructure and keep diagrams and procedures up to date.
- Coordinate with vendors and follow up on expansion projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications or computer engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience running enterprise networks.
- CCNP or equivalent; network security certifications are a plus.
- Very good written and spoken English.
- Able to work at field sites when needed.
